I'm not a big fan of the VTA, but I think technology like this could really work in San Jose/ SC county. If I get some time, I'll look into how many miles of this could be build for the cost of the light rail extension.
It seems to me that this system, coupled with high speed (electrified, limited stops) intercity trains could be the right solution for the bay area.
